Outdoor plants on your property

What kind of area would you live in where you would grow a cannabis plant outdoors on your property?  I know that in SF and Humboldt, lots of people have plants on their decks.  But I am curious about more oppressive areas.  Would you have plants in a translucent greenhouse?  Would you even have one on your porch?  I have seen 2 or 3 very bold grows in Seattle and Portland (just out in the open, unfenced yards) and it struck me as amazingly strange.  I am curious if times have changed and I am paranoid.  Do any of you know of people growing between rows of corn, behind garages, that kind of thing "in plain sight" but on private property.

Some people manicure them so that they don't even look like cannabis.

Put amongst other different plants too.

at the house im at now there is a 6 foot plant in the back yard. the house is right in the middle of your avarage neighborhood.

it should be ready to bud in the next month as long as it can get past the coming of the cold.
