Socks and why I hate them.

All spring and summer long, I have been happily wandering around the earth wearing my all-weather sandals. Socks or sneakers never once came into the picture. My feet love being unrestricted.

Just in the last two weeks or so, it has started to get cold enough that sandals are no longer an option. I have reluctantly started wearing socks again. Not socks with sandals, but socks with sneakers. For sneaking.

At first it doesn't bother me, but after a few hours of wearing shoes and socks, my feet start to feel...claustrophobic. By the end of the work day, I've usually taken off my sneakers while I'm sitting at my desk. Then I get home, and the socks come off.

Finally, my feet are free again! And they are tingling and itchy with gratitude. "THANK YOU FOR FREEING US FROM OUR BINDINGS!"

Does anyone else have this problem?

Maybe you have shitty ill fitting socks?

I love wandering around barefoot or in sandals, but there's nothing like a cozy pair of soft, fluffy socks to cushion your foot and keep it warm inside your shoe.

Nah, my socks fit just fine.

I do have a pair of wool socks that I enjoy, but only in the dead of winter.

I much prefer being barefoot.  I just love feeling contact between the flesh of my foot and the ground.  Makes me feel very alive, like I'm floating above the Earth's core.

I often sleep in my socks this time of year.

However, I too prefer bare-footedness or the occasional flip-floppery.  :poshdance:

I love being barefoot but i love socks just as much except for sweaty socks.
Either way, you just gotta get over it and keep your feet warm in the winter.

That's really never occurred to me.  :confused:  I usually just stash them in the closet.  :grin:  But they are never there when I need them. 

I think I have about four socks total that I just rotate.
