Re: Is it a lost cause to try to help contribute to the increase of human consciousness? [Re: Anonymous #1]

The way to do your part is to literally do your part. Worry about yourself, and getting yourself as aware as possible.

You have to lead by example. You can't tell other people how to be. They have to see it in you, and want what you've got. Then they'll seek it out on their own.

You can tell a child not to touch the stove, because it's hot... but the moment you turn your back, he's going to touch that stove.

Experience is the best teacher.

Work on yourself. The clearer your channel gets, the more natural influence you will have on others. This influence will come through example instead of intellect.

I disagree.

It is a chain reaction. People you inspire will inspire others, and it will continue.

Have faith in you awareness, and encourage those you inspire to have faith in their awareness. That is all it takes.

BTW, the fact that you don't think your inspiration is enough to change the world is evidence that there is more work to be done on yourself. When your faith is unwavering, your influence will be unquestionable.

A better question would be to ask why you think that someone like that would listen to some distance figurehead affiliated with the group of people he or she considers the problem?

People like that are reached through community. Through personal contact, influence, and inspiration from those closest to them.

This relates back to the concept of touching the people who you can reach, and letting the chain reaction occur.

Frankly, you're harboring a lot of fear. It's evidenced in your concern.

Let go of fear. That is what high awareness states are all about--realizing that you can be free of your own fear.

As I said initially, continue to work on raising your own awareness. When it is high enough, your influence will be unquestionable. Right now, it is quite questionable, as you are expressing yourself from a fear-based perspective.

By contributing that concern, you're enhancing the likelihood of them not being reached. This is a manifestation of fear. Believe that they can be reached, and you enhance the likelihood of them being reached. That is a manifestation of love.

I don't mean to judge you. These are just my opinions.

So OP, what do YOU do to contribute to raising human consciousness?

Or do you just sit around getting high and preaching?

Psychedelics aren't the only way to raise consciousness. Many spiritual paths can do this. Buddhism for one. Read "power vs. force", this guy has a scale of consciousness. It is a logarithmic scale 1-1000.

Level          Log

Enlightenment 700-1000
Peace        600
Joy          540
Love          500
Reason        400
Acceptance    350
Willingness  310
Neutrality    250
Courage      200

Below 200 (Below the critical level of integrity):

Pride        175
Anger        150
Desire        125
Fear          100
Grief        75
Apathy        50
Guilt        30
Shame        20

and hope for the end of the world...

listen dude 2012 or a nuclear holocaust wont solve anything either. death and destruction is your solution to people that can't be reached?

if they can't see the light that is not YOUR problem okay. it is your duty to be the best person you can, live the good life, and whatever happens happens. and if you think death to the world is superior to having a bunch of people that act like assholes to the rest of everyone then you are wrong.

i'm sick of all these people saying oh i wish this would all just end, look at how screwed we are. i say fuck you, cause it's never going to end. yeah we die, but that ain't the end. just do what YOU have to do and leave it at that. stop worrying about people that, in the end, actually have nothing to do with you

To me, 2012 has nothing to do with death and destruction.

The revolution won't be televised... it's the dawn of an internal shift.

There are those who are meant to make the shift in advance, to help usher in the new state of mind for the whole.

Trust me when I say that those of us who feel such a responsibility are doing our best to make the changes that we need to internally.

And go easy on those who are not equipped to make the shift in advance.

Sometimes I am one, and sometimes I am the other.

Everyone does what's needed when they are ready to do so. No sooner, no later.
