Me myself, I take multiple pharms every day for three reasons, my cardiovascular system (preventing another heart attack), for my brain (staying cool) and an auxiliary drug.
Here goes:
CARDIOVASCULAR
- a Nitrate vasodilator pill (daily) - an ACE Inhibitor (lowers blood pressure, daily) - A Calcium Channel Blocker (anti-vasospastic, daily) - 80mg Acetylsalicylic acid (blood thinning cardio aspirin, daily) - Nitroglycerin sublingual spray (emergency vasodilator, occasionally)
AUXILIARY
- levo-Cetirizine 5mg (anti-allergic to counter allergy to my damn heart meds, daily)
MIND DRUGS
- Haloperidol 2mg (reducing my general excited state, daily) - Xanax 0.25mg (countering cardiovascular panic attacks, occasionally)
As to side effects, the heart drugs give me regular problems such as dizziness by low blood pressure, edema by fluid retention and tendency to eczema fully countered by the anti-allergic.
I used to be pro-pharm until I got the cardio cocktail with its side effects. The calcium channel blocker had to be changed twice as the older versions gave me a lot more edema.
Nothing but praise for the nitroglycerin, the lack of side effects and effectiveness of the levo-cetirizine and the haldol - and the pleasant solace the Xanax provides in times of naked fear.
