Ed Hockuley is one of the most respected refs in the entire league

I literally went outside and puked my guts up I am so pissed.
I am not taking anything away from the Broncos, they just tried their hardest like they are supposed to.
In my 30+ years of watching the NFL I have never seen a more blatant throwing of a game by the refs like I saw today.
Hopefully I never will again.
"The review equipment doesn't work, therefore the call is as made and goes to the Broncos".
Have you EVEr heard of a ref saying the review is "broken" and can't be called upon??
What the fuck??
Cutler fumbled that ball, plain and simple.
How it was called any other way except from a steroid/growth hormone induced ref is beyond me.
So obvious, how can they get away with it??
I'll bet the NFL somehow fines/fires/seriously reprimands Ed Hochule for such a horrible job.
It's literally criminal.

We won the game without Merriman, the refs had to win it for the Broncos.
Pathetic.

i saw the game
and u guys couldn't get any pressure on Cutler, he had alot of time to throw on many plays, including the final conversion.
1 total sack throughout the game. They hurt without merriman. Even the announcers said so multiple times.

Regardless, the Chargers won the game.
Refs overturned the victory.
Plain and simple.
No arguments.

no foul play here, he made a mistake and did by rule what he should have done. it does suck for the chargers though, not like they didnt have plenty of chances to not give up 39 points

yeah that last whistle on the fumble at the end was pretty rediculous.
it was a valiant comeback up to that point. Darren Sproles continues to impress me.
But yeah, losing Merriman still hurts alot, you have to admit it.
Because it's going to be mentioned multiple times by columnists throughout the week, i garuntee it.

Wow, you're pathetic. I'm surprised you're still alive after the Chargers failing in the playoffs the last few years. Surprised you didn't commit suicide.
It's also the second game of the season. Not only do players make mistakes but so do referees. Especially this early in the season. If this was a playoff game, then yes, I could see you getting upset. But it's not.
If you think the Chargers are as good as you really think they are, then starting 0-2 doesn't mean shit and they'll go 14-2.
But as it stands now, they are 0-2 and THAT is objective. The refs did not hand the Broncos the game, they handed them another play, the Chargers could have not allowed the touchdown NOR the two-pointer.

Kinda like blaming Bartman for the Cubs losing the NLCS way back when.
A team is gonna be tested one way or another, you gotta overcome.
They gave up a 2 point conversion (which both announcers, along with myself and my friends all said was the first time they had seen such a thing) to lose, not to mention a touchdown.
Again, you gotta overcome. They shut them out for a whole half after giving up 31, and they got ran over.

Sucks to be them.
End of story.

I never claimed that the Chargers were all that great. Nor did I say the Broncos were bad. I just thought the referee (Hochuli) blew critical calls that heavily favored Denver. This game was obviously not a play off game but being the 2 teams are in the same division still means serious playoff implications down the road.
It is not so terrible that a drunken Chargers fan vents a bit on a sports forum and I expect to do more of the same as the season progresses.

Shoot, I'd be mad too. But you gotta look at your team too. They needed to step up, and didn't. I cannot imagine how much talk there's gonna be about this game today, and not just in Denver and Cali. It was one for the books.

I am looking at my team and I have to wonder, what happened to our D?
How is it that LT so far this season has been a complete non-producer?
It's gonna be a long season.

LT has been THE MAN, but with running backs, one day they got it, the next it's over. It happens with other positions and in other sports too, but looking back on every good to great back's career, there's that defining time when they just fell off. Not including Jim Brown and Barry Sanders of course.
