Wisdom Teeth

I just got my wisdom teeth pulled a few days ago and im back at work. The first 2 days were cake. I couldnt feel my face the whole time so it was easy. But now it just sucks. They got me all hopped up on Percocets and shit. How long does it take to heal? :frown:

i got mine removed probably like 5 months ago and i still have big holes

of course they are 'healed' but the holes havent filled in yet

Was eating big macs/pizza again in 5 days... AND they had to dig a huge hole to get fragments out of one of them. Only took 2 days worth of Hydro and that was for the feel good :laugh:

i think they fill in,
idk whatever cartiledge maybe? whatever our gums are made of i guess :lol:

takes a couple weeks for the healing to finish though,

Wow, you guys must have bad dentists, mine was one of the best in Texas. I only had 1 hole and that was the huge one, took about a month to heal fully. The rest were nicely stitched up and were never open/didnt need to irrigate anything but that one hole where my cheek/gum meet

I had all 4 pulled. 1 of them was growing sideways so it had to be stitched. i can feel the stitches and shit.

Yeah i have no insurance either. had to pay 1700 out of pocket... once i hit the 2 month marker with my work i get benefits..

1700 is a lot of cash for something so simple move to the Lokata Nation i think med care will be free along with solor power and no taxes

Mine were pretty bad, all 5 impacted.... yes FIVE! i had one smaller tooth growing in behind my lower right. displaced one of the teeth on the front bottom of my mouth, probabbly would have done the same with the top if they hadn't installed a "sports bar" behind my upper fronts.

I was smoking and drinking vodka the next day hahaha, probabbly not a good idea but mine actually cleaned up better than my sister who had hers taken out at the same time. I was back at work on day 4. I took the perc before i went to sleep and after i got home from work, becuase the idea of opperating a slicer on them bothered me a bit. just toked a small bowl before hand. work sucked but mostly because i still couldn't really talk, and customers kept getting mad.

I wonder if i still have the teeth actually, since appearently i demanded i keep them becuase "I'm gonna make a sweet necklace" never did but maybe i should if i can find them.


you'll be ok just make sure you keep your mouth clean and try tokin if it hurts, or you could try those q-tips with numbing gel on them.

Don't know about wisdom teeth but I had a root canal Wednesday- they didn't give me any pain meds and it is still pretty sore.

Yeah man, Mine are ripping the shit out of my cheeks... got two of 'em that came in... the bottom one is pushing my whole row of teeth closer together tightly...  I heard about a program where you can get the shit done for free by a med/dental school student under the supervision of a trained professional... I'm debating whether to do that or not.

First two came out neatly, although one left a crater that's still not filled up entirely (roughly 2 yrs ago). The other side didn't go down quite as well; the upper one wouldn't let go and a piece of jaw came with it, creating a passage between my mouth and my sinuses. They stitched it up and it didn't bother me that much. First time I was back to work on the second day, second time I think I stayed home for 2-3 days. Smoking pot and heavy doses of advil gto me through it just fine.

Last year's apex resection wasn't as smooth btw, that motherfucker got me stuck at home for a whole week. Seems to be healed over now, although the scar tissue still feels (and probably will forever) a bit funky. Again, pot is the ultimate painkiller (I haven't tried opium yet :wink:)

Do they usually put you to sleep in the States when extracting wisdom teeth, I wonder? Around here, it's local anesthetic only.

Everything covered by insurance btw, one of the blessings of our system.

it depends on the complexity of the operation. some people's grow in clean enough that they can be pretty much just be pulled out. some like mine would be far too painfull to try with just local. there would be no way i could stay still with that much pain.  like i said all of them were impacted which means they were growinginto my molars pushing on them. and one of the nerves had started to attach it self to my jaw. WELL worth the extra money it costs to put you under.

really? my dentist explians and offers everyone the choice with a procedure like this. well he didn't really offer me a choice cause mine were so bad. basically he explained it to me then said you'd be a fool not to be put under, don't try to manup and tough it out, its not worth it. I trust him he's been my dentist for years and he's always been really cool, and always made shit as painless and stress free as possible.



besides he has sharks and lizards in his basement that he showed me. i think they made him take them home tho BOOO!
