Two movies with one ticket
    #8620128 -

I got a free movie ticket at work and went and saw Iron Man and Hancock immediately after.  So, basically two movies for free.

I must be getting old because I feel guilty for stealing that second movie.  It felt like everyone knew and they were looking at me when I walked out.  When I made it safely out of the theater, I was expecting a cop waiting for me at my car.

Paranoia for sure and I was completely sober.

Oh yeah, both movies were great.  I'd recommend them!

Really? I heard Hancock bombed out big time.

Same thing happened to me when I played Neil Armstrong in Moonshot. They found me in an alley in Burbank trying to re-enter the earth's atmosphere in an old refrigerator box.

Nobody cares about movie hoppers

I wonder how prevelent it is among adults though

I'd still do it.

FYI, movie theaters are a weird part of law.  You're not "paying for a movie," they're charging you the equivelant of rent (ie admission to the premises).  So the worst they could nab you on would be trespassing, and that's not likely to be enforced.  More than likely, they'll just boot you from the premises.

More tips for keeping money in your pocket and not in the movie theaters. These tips work well with large theaters were movie-wings are separate from the lobby.

For minors: After I grew out a beard, I never had to get carded in R movies, but my friends still did. We found a way to save money and avoid carding by having myself and one other person buy tickets. Even if the other person was not old enough, they could buy a ticket to some other movie, then just come into the R movie. We would get seats, then I would take his ticket stub and walk out of the theater to my friends and give one of them the ticket. I would stand around looking at concessions, then go back in, showing the ticket man the stub to get back to the theater area. My friend with the old ticket would follow soon afterwards, showing the stub. If enough people are going in and out, and especially if there are multiple people checking tickets, they usually don't even look at the stub to make sure you're using a current stub.

This method would be reused, often with people using the money saved on the tickets to get concessions which doubly acted as an excuse for us to keep walking out of the theater. As long as you never let them connect the stream of people coming out of the theater and the people coming back in as being together, we've used this to get upwards of ten people in an R movie for free. If you really load up on concessions, or just pretend to be really clumsy and make like holding popcorn and a coke is a real chore for ya, the ticket checkers usually will just wave you in.

A very illegal way to get into a movie theater is to pull a fire alarm and wait about an hour for the fire trucks to come out and make sure there is no fire. If done on a crowded night, with hundreds of people waiting to get back into the theater, no one is checking ticket stubs. Use a towel or something when pulling the alarm because a lot of alarms spray a paint-like substance on your hand as you pull it, so that if you are pulling it they can scan it under a darklight and know who did it once they figure out there is no fire. Also, obviously, don't do it in sight of anyone else, or cameras.

If you know someone working at the theater, find out the hiring manager's name and his day off. When the manager is out, go up to a ticket person, introduce yourself, and tell them that you were recently hired (drop the hiring manager's name here to make it seem legit) and tell them that you'd been told you could get free movies. Usually, they won't be assed to go through the real process, they'll just let you through, especially if you do this on a busy day when they have a line of people trying to get in. Don't use this too often.

Go in to concessions, buy drinks and food. Wait fifteen minutes, then go to the customer help area and ask a manager if you can switch your ticket for a later showing because a family emergency has popped up and you need to attend to it really quickly (taking your brother home from the airport or something). When he asks for your ticket, dig around in your pocket, then say something like "Oh darn, I must have thrown it away with the concession receipt. If you are dressed decently and look friendly and nice, they'll usually print you out a new ticket anyways. Go outside, enjoy your munchies and a bowl or two in your car a few parking lots down, then return for your showing high and all munchied up. DO NOT skip the concession part of this because when you buy concessions, it definitely looks like you were really legitimately supposed to be in the theater.

If you feel like you can tell which ticket guys are stoners, I've traded small little nugs for movie access before.

I think I'm going to do this soon. Eat like 2 grams when I get some more, and lock myself in the movie theater. Watch a few movies...

My friend and I used to do that ALL the time in like, 8th grade.  We'd stay at the theater from about noon to 7pm hopping from movie to movie.  We'd plan it out beforehand with the movie times.  Those were the days.  :stoned:
