Issue with Mycopath Order
    #8444982 -

I am making this post in order to bring to light some issues I have had with mycopath. I don't like making complaints, but I have repeatedly tried to settle the issue with the merchant directly and even tried sending a PM to ripple instead of posting up a complaint. None of this has helped, so this is my last resort.

I placed an order with mycopath on August 5th, 2007. It took a while for it to come, but eventually it did arrive. I placed the bags in my incubator for a bit, without puncturing anything, to see if they were good. Unfortunately, they were contaminated.

I got in contact with mycopath, and we determined that the contam issue was because of broken bags. They offered to replace the bags if i sent $8.95 shipping. I made up a money order for $9 and sent it in, but still have not received my replacement bags.

I sent another email to mycopath asking what the status of my replacement bags was, and they claim to never have received my money order for the shipping. They said I should call the money order company to confirm that it was cashed.

I called western union and they told me that the money order was cashed on January 9th, 2008. I emailed this information, along with the phone number of Western union and all the information they would need to verify that the MO was cashed, but got no response. I emailed them again a couple days later on March 7th asking what the status was. I got a response saying that the MO was never received, but Western Union confirms that it was received and cashed.

I don't think I will be ordering from mycopath again if this is the kind of service I can expect from them.

I dont think you should of had to pay the 9 dollar shipping fee... you already paid for the items and its the company's job to get them to you in the correct fashion.

*edit* cryogenicz does have a point though.. wasnt a good idea to incubate something thats not inoculated lol.

Guess real problem depends on if there was holes in the bags or if he just messed it up. for takin care of the guy cryo

I agree.

If I was a merchant and I sent faulty product to a customer, I would not charge him to replace it. Proper customer service would dictate that the merchant should eat the cost of reshipping.

Unfortunately, I was tired of waiting, and just wanted my bags already, so I coughed up another 9 bucks. Unfortunately, even that wasn't enough to get my replacement.

Very disappointing.

Wow, what an old issue. Almost a year ago!

Well To my surprise I never got this money order, and I have called on it and Western union won't give me a status on it.

Regardless, I am really irritated that the customer incubated bags that weren't inoculated.

Any bag will contaminate eventually if not inoculated. It's a race against time.

PM me with your shipping info and I'll make things right for you.

yeah, that's kinda what I thought. Why would you heat a nutritive non-sterile substrate and be surprised when there's growth?

This isn't indicative of 'contamination' but rather that its not sterile, right?

What was the contamination? If there's some tuberculosis in there I could see you calling it contaminated, lol

How were the bags broken? If the product was not as described I agree you shouldn't have had to pay additional monies, this isn't 'customer service' but rather a contractual commitment.

When I shipped out these products they wern't broken.

They arrived broken, and I pack up the orders so they do not move around and break open.

I have no Idea how they broke. I guarantee's items to arrive free of contaminants, but I don't guarantee that they will stay sterile indefinably.

Items should be inoculated upon arrival so the spores or cultures can get them colonized before anything else takes hold.

Anyways, his items will be replaced. So no worries.

right, cuz he's refering to a pasteurized product, correct?

So there's no reason to think there will be sterility upon arival, and him incubating it caused his own problems likely out of a confusion between sterilization and pasteurization, right?

Cryogenicz, PM is sent. Thank you

John, the bags are advertised as sterile. If I wanted something less than sterile, I could just go to walmart and buy a 20 pound bag of WBS for 5 bucks. I put them in my incubator without even opening the tape on the shipping box to confirm bag integrity. It is a good thing that I did since it turned out that the corners of the bags themselves were damaged. Even if I had inoculated the day that I got them, they most likely would still have gotten contaminated at the spots where the bags were broken. I sent pictures to mycopath, and it was agreed that they should be replaced. the only issue that I have is the time it took to replace them, and the issue of the 9.00 MO, which I am sure is just a misunderstanding. I imagine that mycopath has a large volume of mail that comes in, and I can see how a small MO could get misplaced or forgotten or whatever.

However, as cryogenicz says, my items are now being replaced, so no worries.

Thank you.

Oh, well if they were advertised as sterile than you'd have a gripe I guess, but it sounds like graham is taking care of you.  From what people say on here he doesn't check his email everyday, but I'm sure he's got another job and such.

So what, you ordered wild bird seed and it was supposed to be sterile but somehow the bag was damaged in shipping?

Oh well, I guess stuff happens.  Graham seems like he'll take care of folks that have issues though, so

Funny to see Graham posting to a complaint, but not returning e-mails to check on the status of an order placed on the seventh of May.

I have yet to see professional service from Mycopath.

Cryogenicz/Graham: I mean, if you're having your business ethics being negatively spoken against, I would be glad for you to send me some free supplies, and I will gladly tell everyone how fast it was shipped and how good of a product it is. :gangsta:

If you're intending to make me believe that your e-mail must be accessed at the "office", then you're a joke.

My e-mails have been unanswered for over a week, and my order was paid for well over three weeks ago with no ship notification.

Vendor orders aren't new to me, and I appreciate your sarcastic smile and wonderful day comment. Unfortuantely, you've really screwed me over, and you don't seem to care.

Good vibes to you in the future.

I'm not being sarcastic, and I truly mean what I say.

My e-mails come in using pop3, I use Thunderbird so all my e-mail goes into that email box.

If you pm'd me with your order number I could let you know whats going on with your order. I still have yet to receive an order number from you via pm.

All orders from May 7th are all shipped so I don't know what order you are talking about.

I would love to help you, so pm that order number to me!

I hope you cheer up and have a great day!
