I'm not a big fan of asian style decor, so unless there were some really sweet patterns I wouldn't buy one, personally.

Like others have said, though, I'm sure you'll be able to find plenty of people interested.

Well, I've been commissioned for my first one.

And, just I suspected, it's a generic stoner thing. They want "smoke two joints" and some sublime stuff, with pot leaves. *rolls eyes*

but hey, it's SOMETHING you know.

yeah, I was like REALLY excited about this thing, and telling my old roomie about it and she was like "OMG, I want a sublime one that says smoke two joints!!!" and it like.... took the wind out of my sails LOL I just said "oh... ok... $20..."

then another friend I told this to just sent me a message saying she wants the small asian style lamp things with Chinese lettering. *sigh*

oh well... such is life.

once the supplies arrive I'll play around with different designs.

hey, if you have something specific in mind, run it by me.

I hope to eventually have basic templates and designs for stock... but I can also do whatever people want... right now I'm just asking people what they want to try to see what will be popular to build everything up.

I was thinking something more along the lines of your own artwork and style. Something with sweet colors that just makes a cool pattern or design. I wouldn't want something that looks like i just went and bought it at the shopping mall.

what colors do you like most?

EDIT: I'll come up with a few things, if you like one you can have it for free... I mean, as long as you want a globe lantern that only cost me $1... and it'll just be the lantern, you'll have to go buy the cord thingy and a light bulb... Those are kinda expensive so the freebies will JUST be lanterns.

I'm getting 24 lanterns.

minus 4 for mistake...

leaves 20 spots.

minus the one for my old roomie, so 19 spots that will be free.

I mean i like all colors pretty much. I'd be hoping for something psychedlic, but it doesn't necessarily have to be like that. Heres so pictures on the net i found that i think would look kinda cool.



Or even something like this would be cool, but with some more color.



Sorry I'm not sure how difficult it is to airbrush these things and what kind of detail you can come up with. Do you have any work you've done that you can show us photos of?

the first and second ones would be easy... ESPECIALLY the tribal sun.

the middle one looks like origami more than a painting... but it did kinda inspire me to try a "stained glass" looking piece.

Nice, well hell yeah man! Think you could maybe combine the first and third pictures. So it would be a tribal sun overlayed on a like a psychedelic cloud cover. Maybe make the sun a good mix of yellow, red and orange. I dunno, use your imagination. I would be happy with an original piece, but this gives you an idea of what i'd be interested in at least.

airbrushing is mostly using masking/stencils... so I could just lay down a mask of the tribal sun and do the psychedelic cloud... then pull off the masking and it'll be a psychedelic cloud in the shape of the tribal sun.
