I'm good at it. I played it nonstop for about a year, but the table is a hassle to get at with the new furniture arrangement. Fail.

Next year I'm living in a house with 10 guys and 3 tables.

I have been playing for 10 years, but I havent played on a daily basis in a long time. I new about 8 other people that liked to play.

I see the game getting a little more popular. I see tables in bars more often, and people actually using them.

IMO, the game takes a lot of skill, but its kind of boring when you play people who are too skilled. they just pull that wrist rolling shot and score all day, it really slows the game down. The people I played w/ all liked a controlled, but fast game. The table we owned was a POS Harvard from Sears. it had no ballbearings so it made it impossible to perform that rolling shot so we all learned to play differently.

I like playing one v one, it can really be a mental and physical workout.

i <3 foosball. srsly.

i've been playing foosball almost everyday for the past 2 years cause we have a table at work. i'm not sure how good we are, but if we play 2 against 2, the games are pretty fast pace and we work as a team, passing the ball often to find a good open shot. we even have 3 books on foosball techniques to learn more about rules and regulations and trick shots :P

we're also thinking about making t shirts and joining in some foosball tournament and it's funny cause we're all pretty serious about it but end up laughing at the thought...

More of a game than a sport... you may call it something else:

Welcome evermore to gods and men is the self-helping man.  For him all doors are flung wide: him all tongues greet, all honors crown, all eyes follow with desire.  Our love goes out to him and embraces him, because he did not need it.

I think when he said foosball in Waterboy he was just making fun of retards, and how they mispronounce things.

lol im glad to see im not the only one. Between learning to bank and being deadly with the long defense shot i no longer have any competition locally. Sortof a double edge sword...

ive played for 30+yrs. got way into it during the 70's , went to all the tourney's. i have a state title . did the pro tour '75/'76. hanson, sumption, furry, beltz, betnar, beat em all. Played @ all Moby Dicks's and played @playboy tower in chi. tourneys. prolly didnt break even but we finished in the money lots. 1/4 million $ tourney's. i snorted coke whith all the top pros.
the rolling wrist shot is stoppable----just keep ur goalie rocking...i played goal and i either passed or did a pull kick/bank...all from the same spot and lightning fast. when i played offense i did a pull/pull kick...all from the same spot. i would practice the shot with my eyes closed as it is executed as a flinch. good luck in your game. Our motto was BALL CONTROL!

i hate people that dont allow you to spin the players... thats the only way to get the ball going really fast...

wrong. you can kick the ball just as hard if not harder using the power in your wrist. spinning the players only slows down your accuracy and speed, plus it's a cheap technique that requires virtually zero skill.

Ball control is my strength. What is the wrist rolling shot. I feel i can be tournament material, how do i get involved. What tables do they play on?

Whenever we play that, we're drunk/stoned at a pub. My friends spin it way too hard and the ball always goes flying into innocent bystanders, while I laugh uncontrollably. Good times, good times.
