Some Drunken Bitching

I wish I was a more social person, but when it comes down to making the effort, I just don't care enough.

It's like being part of the social game is just something I am not part of.  Something fascinating and possibly very rewarding that I wish I could understand and take part in...

Don't get me wrong, I have a good number of friends and a few really good friends, but it's not the same as what I see around me.

I don't ever chat with random people, I don't ever have a girlfriend because I'm too lazy to make the effort, and I suck at conversation.

I think part of the reason I suck at conversation is that I often don't really care about what the other person has to say.  I don't know why, but it just doesn't turn me on (in a non-sexual way).  Oh, and I also suck at thinking of a good response to something someone says.

That's all.

Well, I'm going to drink some more.

Being an anti-social twat basically. I would refuse to talk to people simply because I thought I was too good for their small talk. :shrug:

I thought I was above it all like who the fuck cares. Humans are social creatures believe it or not we pretty much thrive on conversation be it small or large.  The past two days I have actually been talking to people, yes TALKING, and it feels good.  Try it out. 

I realize you probably do not give a flying fuck about Ugg boots, new fashion trends or whatever and that is what turned me so anti-social. I REFUSED to take part in any conversation of sheepish proportions and just began to hide from conversations in general. Yes some people I still do not like talking to but that is how everyone is.

My ideal convo is just bullshitting and joking around. I actually found out I have a sense of humor and can make people bust their asses laughing. It is pretty crazy. I thought I lost that ability yet it never left me.


Seriously, I was EXACTLY like you just a few days ago pretty much. I am still in the transition but already feels great.  Crazy world we live in us humans.

Well stop saying you don't care. You do or you wouldn't be posting about your issues. YOu need to set aside this 'lazyness' and force yourself into new situations. Change will never happen with ease...its always by force. YOu need to force yourself into it. It's going to be fucking painful and might suck...but if you want to connect with more humans, its something you need to do. Trust me, making that human connection is fucking important. It reminds you your still sane and that everyone is really on the same boat as yourself.

Good luck...it will not be easy, this journey you start. But if you don't give up, the rewards are great and many!

Most people are just faking it. They are not genuinely interested in what you had for dinner last night they are just being courteous or trying to get your pussy etc

You guys didn't understand what I was trying to get across.

I see most people, and friends, having a great time conversing and being social. When I try it though, it doesn't seem to work out. For some reason I can't seem to find it as fulfilling.

So, I DO care that I am missing out on it. I DON'T care what people have to say.

Kinda funny the way you say "when I try it" like its some game when ok i am going to try talking now, not like you haven't grown up talking and holding conversations with people. Dude, I have thought about this before, but really its just a form of insecurity in my opinion. You have to be more confident. But if you don't care about talking to people like you say, then it shouldn't be an issue with you

It really does seem like that. Every since the beginning of my adolescence I've been quiet and kept to myself. I simply don't hold very good conversation with people.

I agree that insecurity plays a significant part, though.

ive found that to be a relatively reliable assumption..although there are many exceptions. But we all know stupidity is the most abundant thing in the universe.

Conversation is a practice- sometimes you just try to be interested as much as possible- and its starts to come to you. You see patterns, and learn yourself to not be insecure so much.

Bottom line is people worry about what the other person is going to say. And that also blocks them from speaking about what they want to speak about.

Coversation to my family is as part of having proper manners , same as not pissing on the floor.

We are ubur social beings!

and us americans live a life of "independence or individuality" while the strongers cultures and populations practice "Community and Unity"

Any american that says we are "United!" is a fagglet puppet of the current ruleset just trying to comeup off others for himself- not his state, city, local school, neighbor.

Maybe part of the problem is that you aren't hanging around the right people. There's people I don't converse much with. The empty headed people that think who you are is determined by what name brand you are wearing, car you drive, etc. Give me someone with substance to talk to!

I've worked with the public for years and years. I can shoot the shit easily. But on my time I don't bother wasting it with inane chit-chat.

I am the same way. I have always been a man of few words. The last thing I talk about is myself. I have no problem talking to anyone about anything, but I am not going to start the converstation. I guess I reply only. I can play the social game as well, but I have no care for it. I have thought about it, but I don't dwell in it. I am not materialistic. On top of this all, I don't care about girlfriends of marriage. Fucking feels good, but im independant.

Its all part of a lifestyle most people find addicting. I however, don't see the appeal.
