Bail has been refused to two people netted in yesterday's police raids against an alleged major drug syndicate in Grafton on the New South Wales North Coast.
Police allege 43-year-old bar tender Lisa Connolly and 28-year-old suspected bikie Dean King ditributed more than 1,500 ecstasy tablets early this year.
They have also accused Connolly of contacting a hitman twice and asking him to kill one other man.
Connolly's lawyer argued she should be given bail, saying she suffered from severe anxiety and depression.
But the police prosecutor argued the man she allegedly wanted to kill would fear for his safety if she was released.
Registrar Chris Baily refused bail, saying the allegations against Connolly were too serious for her to leave custody.
He also denied bail for King, who was allegedly a member of the Gladiators outlaw motorcycle gang.
Police have charged three others who were arrested in the raids.
Officers say they seized more than 1,000 ecstasy and LSD tablets before the raids.

Sounds like someone has been getting high a bit too much on their own supply.

Well, I would have severe anxiety and depression if I was facing 1500 manslaughter charges...

All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together. We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter." --Max Planck

Why do people perpetuate this stupid myth? Ecstasy charges are not manslaughter charges.

Its manslaughter if someone dies, but you didn't intend to kill them.
There are no drug cases that can bring a manslaughter charge except a fatal overdose.
