Basically I got arrested recent;y for possession of pot. I will soon be going to college, Im 18 in high school still. But will it be really shitty going to college for the first time and not being able to smoke any weed or do anything that will show up on a drug test? Is it pretty much everywhere and hard to resist? I guess its just the person. Seems I will be doing lots of mushies and lsd then i guess.

College is not like the movies, and its not like high school. There is not weed smoking on every corner, and people dont congregate in herds like wildebeest on the Serengeti. You go to class during the day, study at night and try to get good grades.

Id suggest not going to college till you grow up a little. Put down the stupid fucking drugs and make something of your life, hell i vote they just lock you up for good instead of wasting the time of college professors on complete fuckups like yourself instead of other students who are there to make a life for themselves.

QFT Dont waste the time and money of hard working people by going to college. That spot you take could be used by somebody who gives a shit about his/her future.

I like how everyone says "put down the drugs" from a drug website.
Don't get me wrong, the OP is a fucking dipshit.

You're going to college, so I would lay of the drugs for a long while until you get the hang of the intense workload and punishing schedules. College is fun, but not if you're stressed out all the time about work you haven't done. Stick to your probation rules, they'll actually help you, and after it's over with you'll have an important life skill: the knowledge that pot is easy to resist if you have important shit going on.

moderation is key.
i smoked pot almost daily freshman year of college and tried all sorts of new drugs (opium, cocaine, mushrooms, etc.). i had smoked in highschool but maybe once or twice every few months, and didn't try any other drugs. most of the kids i smoked with/did drugs with failed out, but i survived, while taking premed classes.
now i smoke mainly on the weekends or after i get my shit done for the day. if you wanna do drugs and still do good in school it's possible. just remember to keep your priorities in check and use moderation.
but if you're on probation, be good, lay off the drugs. they aren't necessary. you can have a good time sober.

It depends. I started college off on probation, from the very beginning to April. It wasn't too bad, I just drank once in a while. I guess it really depends on your situation. Living on campus with some non-smokers? Probably won't be too hard. Living off campus with a bunch of tokers and having to watch a bong get smoked all day, that may be a little tough. I think it really depends on what college you are at, and who you hang out with. At my school, the bud smokers are there, but not extremely easy to find.
As for school in general, it takes very very good balance to be able to smoke and do good in school. The safest thing to do is just smoke on the weekends, but if you are truly dedicated, you can smoke a lot and still do good in school. I pulled a 3.0 last semester with HEAVY smoking, and will most likely do much better this semester since I've declared my major and have classes that interest me.

Depends on your major and school too. A monkey could get a 3.5 in something like sociology, or while in community college. But if you have a real major in a real university its not going to be that easy. 3.5 isnt even that great, its average in my major.
Drugs do impede performance, period. If you are able to get a 3.5 while bing high every day, you could probably get a 3.8 and opportunity to go to grad school if not high. Of course if your happy with a 3.5 and you are achieving your goals, then fine dont stop smoking. In my case, I was similar to you with a 3.5 and smoking every day. Then I realized that I wanted to go to grad school and actually lean useful skills (not just pass classes and get a degree). To do this I need intense focus all day every day, so I quit smoking. Im happy with my choice, but Im sure many would rather have a more relaxing lifestyle.

ehhh, I take part of that back. 3.5 is good.
OP, what is your major? That is important in determining how much partying you can do.

Ok, then you can probably smoke weed all day get A's and not get a job after graduation. If you want to be a professor, you will need a strong emphasis on logic and history and get into grad school. In that case, say goodbye to partying, and say hello to stiff competition.
Shittie deal I know. Philosophy is a worthy subject, but that how it is.
