Smoked some DMT, coming down from it as I type this..

Everything is still deeply patterned. I can feel it slipping away from me moment after moment. It's amazing how transient the core of this experience is, hows quickly it comes and how silently it leaves until you reach a point where you know it's nothing more than a memory, that biologically and physiologically, it's been broken down and it's done now and all that it's left you with is images and a feeling to hold on to.

Feels like death and I'm working on accepting it every time. But it's hard. This was the third time I've tried to do DMT alone, about my seventh or eighth time in total. I've had a few wonderful, amazing experiences with friends but the two times that I tried to smoke it alone did not go well at all. Both times I felt as if I was dying and the sign of that dying was that I was oozing everywhere. I could feel liquid all over me and it was bleeding out of me. It felt like blood leaving me but it also felt like it was more than blood. My soul, my memories, my essence.

This weekend I tripped on two hits of acid and really wanted to smoke DMT on the comedown but plain chickened out. I just could not face it. We were going to do it the next day in the woods but it was raining all day and that shot our plans. So here I am today back in NEw York City and all day I have been thinking I wanted to try it again. So I sat down with my pipe and 75 mg DMT capped but then I started wondering if there was any DMT left in the pipe because it sure looked like there was leftover from last time.

I put a flame to it without thinking and maybe that was the key because I swallowed the experience a lot better than the last two times which ended in me flailing around my apt sure I was dying and unable to come to terms with it. I took one hit, then a second, a third, a fourth. Not a single one of them did I hold in for as long as I should have. But I held them each in for 10 or 15 seconds or so. After the fourth hit I set the pipe down and laid down.

It looked like rugs were being thrown on top of me, waved over me. Far behind the rugs, as they piled up, I thought I could see faces peeking. it seemed they were just throwing these rugs to suit me...I knew I had not smoked enough. It all seemed like a distraction. I make it sound bland, but to be sure these were some of the most spectacularly bejeweled rugs I had ever seen in my life, but I knew right away that it was nothing more than a distraction. There was a keen sense of a much deeper DMT world behind the rugs. I knew I didn't smoke enough but I decided to just breathe deeply and enjoy where I had gotten to.

I felt the liquid again. On my arms, especially around my tattoo, and coming out of my eyes a little too. There were no tears or sweat, it was just this imaginary soul-blood coming out of me. I kept telling myself not to worry and to remember that I was alive and everything was fine. Eventually I opened my eyes and thought for a long while about death.

I got up and walked to the window. Looked at the clouds and exclaimed, Wow! And then I just said it ten times or so, looking at things and saying wow! Finally I looked at my hands and said, Wow! Monkey! Look at you! Monkey! Monkey! I went to the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. There I am! I said. That's me! Alive! Look at you! Monkey!

I threw on my hoodie, grabbed my keys, and, still tripping on the DMT, went downstairs and out of my building to breathe in the fresh air. Life coursing everywhere. People running about their business. I died for a moment and then was reborn into civilization.

I'm getting better at this. I can go deeper, alone, next time. Though I do want to revisit it with friends.

There is something to be said about opening your eyes after a DMT experience and being able to smile into the eyes of a good friend. But I guess there's also something to be said for how DMT makes you realize life is your trip and your trip alone and no one else can really join you on it, and so coming out of it and being alone is a way to starkly face reality. DMT always shakes me too the core. And I always come out of it feeling supremely alive.

It's good to be alive.

Good read, bro.

I've never tried DMT personally, and after reading your post, I doubt I ever will. Possibly once, just to try, but I feel like I've "outgrown" psychedelics in a sense. Now, don't get me wrong, I eat acid occasionally, even some mushrooms now and then, but only with friends, and usually only at concerts.

Just that feeling of non-reality is not my cup of tea anymore. I used to really enjoy it, but now I would much rather relax with a bowl, an opiate once in awhile, and my sane mind, heh.

I plan on smoking DMT sometime soon for my first time. I've had 50 mg's of it for a while now but I've always been to afraid to smoke it in fear that it would "change me" or wierd me out. But recently I've just felt like going for it, it can't be any worse than a Salvia breakthrough.

I used to find it scary too, but now I find it comforting. Everyone's reality is completely unique and at the same time we are still connected with everyone else's reality.

:lol: I've done that before. Not the monkey part but I did say Wow several times after my first DMT trip, in a kind of geeky Terence McKenna voice. :mushroom2:

The hardest thing that I've ever faced while tripping was coming to the realization that I had lost the "wow" factor. Everything is amazing.

Pretty brilliant statement imo. I would apply this to all tripping, though it applies to DMT much more directly.

That liquid you describe reminds me of a part of "True Hallucinations" by Terence McKenna. If you are interested I can upload the chapter from the audio book. HE describes how the shamans of the Amazon emit a "liquid" of a psychic nature.

I too get that Monkey thing whilst tripping. I've never smoked DMT, but it is really easy to see the resemblance between humans and other primates for me while tripping.

Awesome post man. Really great read. I also get that "liquid" feeling while on DMT. My first time I felt like I oozed and melted completely into a puddle. It blew my mind for sure. I'm glad this experience was a good one for you.:psychsplit::teleport:

Sally definitely brings the goods in a way that nothing else does. If you can hang with Sally you're gonna have an easier time with Dimitri. I would almost say that DMT goes to the same place Salvia does but in a different way. Imagine a giant elevator. At the top is psychedelic bliss. When you press the salvia button you go from the Ground floor to the Penthouse in 0.0035 seconds and the sides of the elevator car melt off on the way up. If you were to press the DMT button however, the doors fall off and a rainbow brite unicorn glides you up to the Penthouse in a more leisurely 35 seconds.

The tough part with salvia is that you're sobering up quick by the time you figure out where the fuck you are and how you got there.

I've got a little DMT sitting at home in a vial waiting for me. I've never broken through on DMT but have tried it once and had an incredible experience from the very mild effect I got from it (also on acid and bulbs at the same time)

It's interesting these detailed little revelations these kinds of experience can give you. It often saddens me when you come out of a trip or snap back into reality and you look at someone and realise they are on their own life journey/trip and that they can't share your truly unique experience, but then you are glad at this, that makes yo ua unique person with your own experiences.

I guess this is where life partners come into things. Girls look so beautiful to me, not necessarily more so when tripping, but I always see the mother in a girl/woman when I'm tripping out of my head. I see the inner nurture and I fall in love with them. I once watched my girlfriend sleeping while I was tripping out of my tree on about 200 wet grams of shrooms, and amongst all the horrid visions I was having, I just saw this peaceful soon=to-be mother and a kind of flower beautifully sleeping in bed.

I dunno... I'll be interested to see where the full DMT experience takes me, I want to do it with a close female companion just because I love staring at girls when I'm tripping for the sheer fact that they amaze me.
