I found Jack covering "Lighting Crashes" on Limewire. It's pretty good. It's got a distinctive 'Jack' vibe.
Something different if you're sick of listening to Bubble Toes. Also...new album being released on Feb 5. (which is my birthday!) W000t!

Oh sweet... I will definitely download these when i get home. Lightning Crashes is classic... possibly even the best Live ever had to offer, imho.

Well, in the spirit of Jack Johnson covers, here is With My Own Two Hands with Ben Harper (also written by Ben Harper).

Jack Johnson fuckin rules. I have all his CDs out to date, but haven't been listening very much lately. Glad to hear he has a new CD coming out
Have you guys heard his version of Rocky Raccoon, or his song "Girl I Wanna Lay You Down"

After listening, I agree with you there. Especially on limewire since so many things are mislabeled. I tried looking, but couldn't find any proof that Jack Johnson covered Lightning Crashes.

That doesn't sound like him... it actually sounds like it might just be the original singer.. but an acoustic version.
I dunno. I do want to learn the chords to this song though... it brings back vague memories of the past... so nostalgic, heh
But I was introduced to Jack a few years ago by a girl, who is but a lost memory now. But Jack... I still remember him and he's still in my life
Sitting, Waiting, Wishing...
It doesn't really apply to my life anymore, but.. I still love it.

I concur... there is a damn good chance that's the original vocalist from Live...

I kind of thought that too at the begining... but closer to the end it does sound like Jack.

The truth is, there's such a vast difference in the way Jack Johnson sings from Live's vocalist... it could easily be Jack, because if it IS him, he's using a part of his voice that he intentionally leaves out of his act 98% of the time.
It certainly would have the potential to be unrecognizable if he were to sing in a way that embraces the roughness of his voice instead of pushing through it to the breathy tone he generally prefers.
That being said... it still sounds all too much like the original. If it is Jack, I'm impressed...
