There's still NFL for a while, at least. Fuck every other sport, frankly, just can't compare.

Florida students applying to the University should present at least a "B+" average in all academic subjects (additional weight is assigned to Honors, Dual Enrollment, AICE, AP, and IB coursework) and test scores of at least 24 (composite) on the ACT or 1100 (critical reading plus math) on the SAT.

Well, SU's requirements for city school kids were exactly the same, and I would think SU is harder to get into than most state schools.

Those are pretty low.
I'm sure you could get into some UW campuses with those scores, like Green Bay, or something.
But you could never get into a competitive UW system school with those. Those are like, a bare minimum.
I had a 3.5 and a 30 on the ACT coming out of high school, and I had to wait a semester for admission.

Well it doesn't say everyone who applies with those scores would be guaranteed admission, it basically just says if don't have those you have no chance.
I mean, they're average scores of average people. I don't know where you guys went to school, but those seem like perfectly acceptable grades to me.

It's much harder to get into Florida than that. Need at least a 3.7-3.8, which is easy as hell in Florida public schools (my parents had to go ahead and spend forty grand for my education, resulting in lower grades, but damn I know some dumb fucking kids who had 4.5's) but SAT-wise you can get in with 1200, probably not 1100.

first off, I'd like to say you're a pansy little women and that your university is complete shit. While there's much finer girls at FSU, at least I won't have an employer think I'm a moron when he sees where my degree is from. I have several friends that have transferred to and from FSU to UF and UF to FSU and you know what all of them say? "Kids here are fucking retarded!" "Oh man, it's so easy to make straight A's here" "Yeah, I never realized it, but FSU was way easier than UF" "Classes here are a joke (referring to FSU)"
Plus, Tallahassee looks like a town someone put a giant cigarette out on.
furthering my rant, everyone I know that couldn't get into UF went to FSU. I knew of many kids that made great grades and couldn't get into UF.
FSU = Joke.... except for FSU's track team, they're actually really good. Walter Dix is my hero.

So those match SU's requirements for admission of disadvantaged kids? Not the general student population?
SU is a good school, a notch below the better state schools (NY) and probably even with the next level but bigger. Also a safe haven for kids with money.

I would say it's a notch above any state school to be honest. It's also unfortunate people buy into the whole disadvantaged kids thing, but I guess it's a benefit for the kids there. If you want an education, you can get it out of the city schools. But I suppose you're right, I'm sure other kids are held to a higher standard.
It's really not that big by the way either, I'm sure it's smaller than the major SUNYs.
