8k cash after i sold a car. It was short lived becouse i used it as a down payment on a new car, and built a computer with it.

Almost 23K of my own money. I had got the money out of the bank to buy a new car and decided not to get a cashiers check because the bank wanted to charge me a $3 fee. lol.

In one hand?

I had my fingers wrapped around $12.000 in gold coins some time ago. It's a solid chunk of gold the size of a D cell battery, weighing well over a pound of pure gold.

I've held bigger sums of paper money but that's just paper man. Paper money is just a promise.

When it comes to the "ZOMG WEALTH" feeling nothing beats holding gold, and the good thing is it takes but a trip to the bank to hold that roll again, and that by now that $12.000 is worth more than $13.500

banks are allowed to withold whatever is in your deposit box in times of economic or national emergency
