Either click on the chat button at the top of the Shroomery menu or get mIRC.

You have to know the secret handshake to enter our elite hidden chatrooms or else you'll be rerouted to #shroomery which is just a front for the real thing.

what in the hell is IRC? i hear it thrown around all the time, but i can't find it/use it. Is it a website which you chat on, or a program? Whats the deal?

IRC, its the most popular chat program worldwide. It has all types of advanced features that no other chat program has. I suggest you download it and try connecting to Irc.Shroomery.Org and all the other servers there are, there is SO much you can download also from other networks, there are channels with 200 people each serving 200 movies for download.
