i couldn't get any torrents of that software that worked.

itunes fucking sucks.

I have to have the songs on my ipod AND computer, if i wanted some songs on my ipod and i deleted them off my computer after i put them on my ipod, the next time i want to add more music to my ipod it'll delete what i put on before because it's no longer on my computer, how fucking retarded is that?

That's because you have the automatic update feature turned on in itunes. Need to turn it to manual. Winamp is free btw.

i envy the ipod but it's closed nature turns me off. i simply can't let myself have one. if i did, perchance, take the plunge i'd flash out the firmware with rockbox. at least the device would play the media files i have and i could transfer them without some required software.
