Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Well, after hearing their stuff for a few years etc, i saw them in concert for the first time today.

In the event that you aren't aware of this group, essentially 90% of the "rock" christmas songs you hear in commercials/tv programming is done by them, its essentially the 80s applied to christmas music.

The concert was the same way. The frist half was a story told via songs (short narrations done inbetween) about some x-mas time something or other, the music was AMAZING, the light show/pyrotecnics were FANTASTIC.

Second half of the concert was them playing songs, mostly (all, probably) covers of things people in the audience would love, it was a GREAT show and i encourage everyone to go see them if they come near you.

Tickets are pretty expensive (~$50) but if you have extra money laying around (lol) then its definitely worth it. The only downside was it was in a coliseum and standing/dancing/rocking out wasn't an option (despite some drunk hick's attempts on floor level seats).

SO YAY FOR THEM.

Yeah, I saw them last year & it was fucking amazing. Definitely worth the $45 or whatever I paid.

one of the guitars players gave away his black Les Paul to someone in the crowd after the show. I was envious as all get out. They did put on a great show.
