Sulfur taste in weed---HELP PLEASE---

So, my friend and i just took the first two hits off this bowl... The smoke has a taste that is not unlike sulfur. We're thinking that maybe fertilizers may have had an effect on the taste. Maybe there were high sulfate levels. Maybe we're over-reacting, but I'd rather not die... Anybody got anything to say about this?

well, bowl is over.. everything is ok i guess. I'll just wait till it changes up to consume anymore;)

Hmm. Well if you could be smoking not purely the bud of the plant, but some leaves mixed in with it. The leaves have a funny taste and don't taste much like the bud at all, so maybe that's what you're tasting.

What's the quality of the bud? Is it in nugs and you guys are grinding it up or is it already grinded up? Are you guys grinding by hand or by grinder (Some people are careless and throw the whole nug, including the stem into the grinder, this also effects taste)?

It could be the resin from the pipe, or if you've smoked non-cannabis contraband out of it. :jointsmile:

turns out we got the bags mixed up and the stuff we were smoking was somewhat high grade and tasted like sulfur.
