I thikn being locked up in jail is the latest fad with celebrities. It gets them great publicity, and seeing as they have no moral value or self respect then they don't care, as long as they can still roll in the money.

An interesting double standard can be seen in this thread...

1) If you are a rich young female celebrity and get in to trouble with the law over substance usage, then you are a horrid blemish on the face of society that deserves to rot in jail.

2) If you are not a rich young female celebrity and get in to trouble with the law over substance usage, then you are a victim of a fascist police state that is depriving you of your right to do what you want to your own body.

News shows (or any other show for that matter) do what is popular. They have no responsibility to cover stories that are important to humankind. That isn't their job.

CNN is not a good source of news and hasn't been for a long time.

Well, the way I see it this is a young female celebrity who got caught driving drunk, got out pending trial, then less than two weeks later got caught AGAIN driving drunk. It's the AGAIN part that bugs me.

What about the papparazzi problem? The fact they were chasing her that night, had on a previous occasion rear ended her car and drove away.

I wonder how stable you would be when you get paid stalkers following you everytime you leave your home.

She still made the decision to get in the car and drive. She could have called a cab. Hell, with the money she has, she could have called a limousine.

My sister spent 9 months in a hospital learning to walk again because of a drunk driver. I have little compassion for people who drive cars drunk.
