Hey guys got some new shrooooms to identify.

Hey Guys i just found these mushies about 30 minutes ago, i havent picked them yet, but i havent identified these before and i was wondering if you could help me out. thanks in advance. Some grew in clusters.

Habitat: Found on some old rotting firewood in my backyard

Gills: a white to light pink

Stem: Whitish, kind of fragile, 1 - 2cm wide.

Cap: Brown to whitish gray, smooth, , 1/2 - 2 inches in diameter.

Bruising: light brownish color

Location: About 60 miles from the coast of texas near the houston/katy in pasture areas.

My guess is that they will turn a much darker color as they mature. Right?


The pics are a little blurry - Try macro mode if you can.


Looks a lot like a Coprinellus species, maybe http://www.mykoweb.com/CAF/species/Coprinus_micaceus.html

If not that, maybe Psathyrella.

They are not hallucinogenic, but might be edible.

Coprinus good for nothings. Some of the pictures a little too blurry to tell and you should also Read up on techniques for making a spore print :;):
