Duck Soup - Marx brothers film from the 1930's that everyone should see especially with the Iraq war going on. Points out the insanity of war and nationalism to the highest degree of hilariousness. Funniest movie of all time IMO.

(And the Marx brothers best film).

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0023969/

Don't cheat yourself of great films just because they're in black and white!!

"How do we know whether the life of any creature has fulfilled its destiny? I have known the very old to die in bitterness and despair. I have seen young children die before their time but leave behind such a legacy of love and joy that grief for their passing was tempered by the knowledge that their brief lives had given much to others."

hmmm.... this is tough..
i have a pretty erratic opinion, so i'll just list ten movies i wouldn't mind watching right now. maybe tomorrow i'll come up with a totally different list.

Closer
Children of Men
V for Vendetta
Clerks 2
Vanilla Sky
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Brick
Running With Scissors
Waking Life
The Number 23

Though most of these don't qualify as favorites, I recommend all of them. Closer is definitely in my top ten.
