The two most epic couch gags ever.

Both of these are complicated extended-length couch gags and of all the ones I've seen these are my favorites, if only due to how much effort was obviously put into building up to a single punchline.







I believe the second one is the longest single couch gag ever broadcasted.

that 2nd one was fucing radical. ive never seen either of those before. have they been broadcasted on episodes? i like how moe "deevolved" haha

I LOVE the first one ... I've seen it before but it's really incredible.

the second one I haven't seen, and that's JUST as good.  the Simpsons writers/artists really are a witty (and intelligent) bunch.

That animation short from season 18 really surprised me.

And then of course there's the best experimental episode they did, "El Viaje Misterioso De Nuestro Jomer", based on the books of Carlos Castaneda, a self-proclaimed shamanic medicine man:

It's not as great as season 8, but I doubt any other season ever will be.

It's got some good episodes in there.

the Castaneda trip was probably my favorite episode of all time, because for how tough hand-drawn cel animation can be (at the time of that episode), they completely captured the effect of psychedelics.  the few first moments where he talks to Flanders and sees Edna Krabappel and Nelson are just EXCELLENT!  wow ...
