Torsian Field theory
    #6922202 -

So, I was listening to Coast to Coast the other night and some guy was there talking about this.
I had never heard of it, and it peaked my interest about as much as anything on that show can. There is no Wiki entry for it, and I cant really find much information that gives a layman explanation.

The only thing I got from the show was that there are ways to measure torsian fields, like having multiple wave sources in a pool, and watching a float bob up and down as it is affected by these waves and their combinations.

Im guess diploid has some information regarding this. I have skimmed a few articles, and the concensus is that it is mysticism, and somehow deals with psychic links and such...... but I am interested on whether anyone knows enough to inform me about it, be it good or bad.
Sometimes it helps the search to have a better grasp of its history, and experiments.

Anyone got any clue as to what I am talking about? I hope so, or this thread will not fit the criteria for this forum....:tongue2:

Try googling "Torsion Field" instead.

Oh, and they're crap. "Torsion Field" is unnecessary terminology. In fact, a strict interpretation of the term leads to triviality simply because there are so many things that could be described as "Torsion Fields". That's always a red flag, since it's usually an attempt at lending a feeling of credibility to something in order to make up for a lack of substantiating evidence.

In the debunking business, we call it "bafflegab".

If you dig around in the journals, you won't find anything being published on it today. It seems to have mostly come from some Soviets (who were hit and miss on things like that. They did some outstanding operator theory, but then they also were in to pyramid energy).

Finally, don't confuse the trivial "Torsion Field" with the mathematically interesting "Torsion Group". Torsion groups are as real and useful as anything else in mathematics.

see, that is where I probably got confused. I kept finding things about mathematical equations and studies that stated proof of torsian qualities, but then other articles about how the russian scientists had some lawsuits filed against them in regards to scientific fraud.

I will look up more on Torsian groups instead. My interest was merely peaked because I thought it dealt with some M theory type shit.

thanks for the help.

The claim I've been seeing is that these so-called "Torsion Fields" have something to do with String Theory. I thought you were googling "Torsian Fields" which is a mis-spelling of "Torsion Fields". The latter will return more hits. Evidently, the Russian equivalent of our National Academy is very unhappy with these "Torsion Field" theory guys. Especially since nobody likes to see funds for legit research being sucked into ooga-booga.

Torsion Groups, to my knowledge, have nothing to do with String Theory or M-theory outside of an incidential appearance (if they're there at all).
