Found an add in the bargain finder for a daiwa rod/reel, 7', with tackle box for $20

Just went and picked it up.  It's not as thick as I thought it would be, but still plenty fine for the kind of fishing around here.  The tackle box is mighty sweet too...I needed a new one.

I'm a strictly lake trolling only kinda guy.  And around here, most of the lakes are mainly Char and Rainbow Trout along with some Kokanee(mmm nice tasting fish)

If you go to the right lakes, you can easily pick up a 30lbs char, any Char under 10lbs is a baby and definetely needs to be thrown back.

But I like fishing for the Rainbow.  They give a hell of a fight.  My dad, mom and me were having this discussion yesterday actually.  Reeling in a 6lbs(which is considered really big for rainbow) rainbow is 10x more of a fight than a 20lbs Char.

Your average rainbow around here that you'll catch is 3lbs...and that's one hell of a good little fight.  But many lakes, they can get up to 30lbs :eek:

The lake we are going to has a record rainbow trout of 37lbs...I can't even fucking imagine that...would snap my rod like a twig.  I'm hoping to nail a 5lbs plus though :thumbup:
