Looking for some trippy/adventurous games (PC)
    #6775526 -

I am looking for some good games of this nature to download. I have a pretty decent machine so I can run most anything.

Games I have been a big fan of are: World of Warcraft, Max Payne, Shadow of the Colossus, American Magee's ALICE, ummm, probably a few others but yeah...I like games that are gorgeous to look at and have a well thought out plot or adventure line to them.

Half-Life 1 and 2 were also awesome!

thanks

Myst and Riven are good but cater to a certain few...they're pretty fucking hard but they're deep as well.

Here's a fun game I used to play online when I was in like, 5th or 6th grade. Our library had just gotten the Internet during the boom and I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

I don't think it's for PC, but the game "REZ" for PS2 is fucking insane! Check out clips on youtube, if you can find a good quality video. Basically, you're flying through this digital wire landscape that looks like Tron, and you shift forms as you gain power throughout the levels, from a wire figure, to a human meditating in a ball of energy, to a pulsing ball of light. As you change forms, you shoot different beams that move in the most abstract ways to hit the enemies, which are imposible-looking robot things. The best part is that every time you make any kind oif movement, it makes sounds. Basically, the music is made as you play. Total synaesthesia!!! This game is stimuli overload. I first saw it played while I was on DiPT, and it blew my mind that such games were possible. On a high dose of LSD or shrooms, this game could easily be the most mind-bending thing ever.

Oblivion + Shivering Isles expansion do it. You'll love it, it has a beautiful environment to just walk around in. Great for being stoned.

You have to kill enemies to get food. Or they just float around.

Try American McGee's Alice, heres a link to some info on it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_McGee's_Alice

Quote:
Shortly after her second adventure, Alice's parents are killed in a fire of which she is the only survivor. Driven catatonic and having attempted suicide (as found in the case book), she is institutionalised in Rutledge Asylum. Years later, Alice is called by the White Rabbit to the aid of a radically altered Wonderland now under the despotic rule of the Queen of Hearts. The Cheshire Cat in particular now looks very different from Sir John Tenniel's original illustration: he is shown here as skeletally thin and his grin looks more devious than mischievous. Alice comments "You've gone quite mangy, cat, but your grin's a comfort" on his appearance. The Cat is Alice's constant companion throughout the game, popping up now and again to guide the player or offer advice.

Food is kind of a random chance thing. The stuff you see that is kind of faded is what's below you. If I don't find food on one level I'll move up or down.

I was just playing and evolved into one of those pulsing circle things. They suck, they can never attack those worm looking things that you are when you first start.

It's a fun game... great time waster. I just spent an hour playing it... haha I suck at life.

Oblivion is a first person RPG. It's pretty much as free-form as gameplay gets. Look it up, it was the best-seller not long ago.
