FREEHOLD, N.J. (AP) -- Police in Freehold arrested Indianapolis Colts defensive end Darrell Reid on a marijuana possession charge.

Police say the 24-year-old was stopped after they received an anonymous call reporting an intoxicated person early Saturday.

Police say the officer noticed a strong smell of marijuana and saw a small plastic bag of it in the open door of Reid's rental car.

Reid made bail and is due in municipal court Tuesday.

Reid has played for the Colts the last two seasons and in 2006.

At Freehold Boro High, Reid was named to The Associated Press All-State first team as a linebacker in 1999.
