i'm glad you all enjoyed it. i only recently became a Zappa fan. he was a great human being.

Have you listened to Hot Rats or Zoot Allures yet? Those are probably my two favorite Zappa albums.

vai is a better guitarist than zappa, but without zappa vai wouldn't be such a strange character, so i vote a tie.

i agree vai is technically better, i just feel more of Zappa's solos. more emotion in em

vai's solos are probably technically a lot harder to perform but zappa's were musically/emotionally miles ahead. vai tends to sound like every other shredder to me, it's hard to shred without sounding generic imo.

the lineup was by far the best imo, bozzio.. adrian belew, zappa, fuck man.. wish i'd been born about 20 years earlier.
