Its early, but teams heading to the big dance.. broken down by conference

im just going with the power conferences...

ACC- North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Duke, Clemson, and Maryland
on the bubble: Virginia and Florida State

Big 12- Kansas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Texas, Oklahoma State
on the bubble: Kansas State and Oklahoma

Big East- Pittsburgh, Marquette, George Town, Syracuse, West Virginia, and Providence
on the bubble: Notre Dame (huge loss with their pg being suspended), Louisville, and Villanova

Big 10- Wisconsin, Ohio State, Indiana, Michigan State
on the bubble: Illinois and Michigan

Conference USA- Memphis
on the bubble: UCF and maybe Rice or UTEP

Pac 10- UCLA, Oregon, Washington State, USC, Arizona
on the bubble: Standford maybe California

SEC- Florida, Alabama, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, and LSU
on the bubble: Georgia, Auburn, Arkansas


I think the big 12 is the most dominant conference this year, followed by the ACC and Big East.. the SEC has 1 powerhouse and numerous solid teams after that could do some damage.

32 teams in, another 16 possible.. leaving about 17 slots open.. which seems about right to me.

Damn, that does suck.

This is going to be the first year in a long time that I won't be stuck in an office on that first Thursday/Friday session. The first 4 days of March Madness are one of my favorite things in sports.

yeah, when all 65 teams play over 2 days.. its like the stock market, but for sports fans... your frantically flipping channel to channel, checking the internet, and checking stats.. I LOVE MARCH.

just thinking about it makes me want to push back my ship out date.

The Big 12 as your top conference, then BE and ACC?? Come on, Pac-10, SEC, and ACC are easily the three best. The BE's best team is Pitt, who we are discovering isn't even that good. Big 12 has a bunch of up and down teams.
I think Washington is at least on the bubble in the Pac 10, and I think ND will be fine, they got a win today over Nova. I also think Arkansas has a better chance than LSU of being in.

Pac-10 is very good too.. im sorry but with the SEC, atleast to me, they have florida.. and then a bunch of medoicre teams.. ACC is pretty good as well.. i should have added them to my top conferences. SEC reminds me of the big 10 but a little better.. 1-2 powerhouses, and then a bunch of par teams, teams that gets wins outside the conference and count on hitting enough wins to get a big dance birth.

and keep in mind your picking ND and Arkansas after both teams got good wins today, you had the advantage of seeing those results.

idk, i just think ND will stumble down the stretch without their starting PG, dont forget ND is 5-0 at home.. and 0-3 on the road without him..

how is Pitt not that good, because they lost to Marquette? a team I have been praising all season.

and Big 12, up and down teams?... Texas A&M is one of the best defensive teams.. Texas Tech is pretty good.. in my mind the Big 12 will do the most damage in the tourney, by not only putting in the most teams.. but collecting the most wins as a conference.

Don't get me wrong, Pitt is good, and yes I am also kinda big on Marquette, but they only beat UB by what, one? Didn't really show dominance of Syracuse, and they just don't completely impress me. And yeah, TAMU is good, but I didn't say ALL of the B12 teams were up and down. Kansas is all over the place, and so is Tech really. I don't think the B12 will put in the most teams or collect the most wins as a conference either, but I'm not saying it's a fucking long shot, just my views. Like you and I both have been saying in pretty much all the NCAAB posts, guess we'll have to wait for March.

Kansas is young.. i think they start 4 freshmen, when tourny time comes, i think they'll be ready
