alright.... so I just registered and am download my first torrent from this site.


can someone give me a little info about what does on here. They seem to be really uptight about there shit. Is the site worth all the bullshit... The upload/download ration? What do I have to upload something new to be a valid member after I download 5g. I read what they have to say but I am still confused...

BTW I read the rules and I fuck you over for the invite.. +5 BTW

alright so your gonna want to download a torrent client like utorrent or something. its free and really fast and takes up almost no space on your computer. then you take your tracker URL from the oink site (should be on your home page) and paste it into the create new torrent window that pops up in the big text box and then turn off any firewalls while downloading/uploading is happening. i dunno if this is the case for everyone but it was for me.

and i am officially out of invites. i have one waiting on some ones email adress so if he/she doesnt claim it some one else can have it.

hey! I didn't read through this thread but I could really use an oink invite. My account stopped 'cuz I lost the internet for a while and wasn't active, & I can't find releases from pickled egg on soulseek. if anyone (or the threadstarter) has any more invites left, I'd appreciate it a lot!

It's really not that tough to maintain a good enough ratio on oink, you just have to be smart about it if you aren't going to post torrents. What I do is use oink only for the most obscure music I can't find anywhere else and keep my torrents seeding forever and am not greedy so if my ratio is starting to dip I just don't download for a week or two until it's back up again.
