Wow i'd really love to go to one of their shows. I can see a great time.

Any thoughts.

Kind of announced in the new rolling stones issue. I didn't really hear mention of it from him, but that's what the headline says.

I predicted this when I heard they were done touring. No band is ever actually done. Its like every band that has ever got to the point where they can have a "farewell tour" has become a giant money machine. They let it cool off for a few years after the "farewell" tour and when they need a few more paychecks they just flip the switch to ON and they're back in action.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if they got back together. Back together as Phish too-- with the original lineup and name, instead of some kind of superband with a few non-phishers

i saw them talk about it back when, and they said they wanted to spend time with thier families and some show in florida made then realize it wasnt going to get any better than it was. idk, i mean they are cool, but sometimes i think they are doushebags, especially tanasatio.

I recently worked the door at a Trey Anastasio show and had the opportunity to talk to one of Phish's longtime managers who is now handling Trey's touring. I told her my Coventry sob story about not getting in and she asked for my address and is sending me a free copy of the Live in Brooklyn DVD and CD - I was at that show, it was great, I can't wait to watch it again. Anyway, I didn't want to ask outright if Phish would be back together, I sort of danced around the issue, and some of her delays while she worded answers to questions properly made me think there was already discussion about a Phish reunion and she didn't want to (or wasn't allowed to) talk about it. I can't remember specific question/answer combos but I really got that feeling.

Anyway, Phish fans should be excited to know there is going to be a new live release soon...apparently in 1988 the band got in a van in Vermont and drove to Colorado because some guy had promised to book them some shows there. When they got there he backed off on the deal and they played in random tiny venues anyway, for crowds of like 20 people at a time, and one guy taped all of the shows. Phish recently got their hands on the tapes and remastered them and have strung together different songs from different nights from that mini-"tour" back in 1988 to create a sort of "fantasy" live set consisting mainly of songs from Gamehenge.

Sweet, that should be cool to listen to. And about them getting back together, I think it will probably happen in the next few years. If they want it to last some changes will probably have to be made such as some new heads in management and dropping some of their older songs all together (kind of like fluffhead was dropped post hiatus). You know, taking a new direction, these guys are 40+ years old now and I think they are getting tired of singing about the magical world of gamehenge etc. Just a thought...

It seems that alot of people say that but have only heard some jam midway through or just a few songs and base their opinon on that. Phish has made SOO much music you have to listen to them quite a bit and find out what you like. Sometimes they can sound like shit, but most of the time their music is amazing. Try listening to some shows from earlier on, like 92-97 time frame. I'm not saying that everyone has to like Phish, but if you have actually listened to a fair amount of their studio/live stuff you at least have to appreciate that they are talented.

i've heard hundreds and hundreds of hours of phish (live and studio) and i still can't stand it. the more i hear it, the less i like it.
