IPX over TCP/IP?

Hi,

is it possible to tunnel IPX through TCP/IP? I'm trying to get some older games that only have IPX multiplayer support to work over the internet. I've successfully set up a PPTP VPN server, I'm now looking for a way to wrap IPX in TCP/IP, as PPTP doesn't support IPX.

Ideally, if there was some kind of OSS low-level proxy that would wrap any IPX packets in TCP/IP while appearing to be a normal IPX connection to high-level programs, well, that would be fantastic :tongue:

If anyone has any help, that would be great. VPN server is running Fedora core 5, client machines run XP. Software can be installed on any of those boxes.

If you have a VPN tunnel between two networks, such that both networks appear to be part of the same network, then IPX should route through the tunnel. You may have to configure the VPN to route IPX, but you shouldn't need anything additional.

Back in the day we used to use Kali software, it didnt used to be, but I think it is free now unless you want to host a game.

Tunnels are usually transport level, level 3 and upper protocols should work fine.
