Damn you state controlled liquor stores

So i moved to a new area recently, and yesterday i was thinking about picking up some vodka... this bieng washington, i have to pay a visit to the "liquor store"... So i checked online, and i cant find one in my area.. they are all a good few miles away, in places i've never been to before. I know there's one closer to me than what they are telling me online, cause when i was driving around the other day i rememberd seeing one and thinking "oh, there's the liquor store, that's good to know..." but i cannot for the life of me remember where that was.

yea, i gotta admit, they are pretty well stocked, but still. And i hate it when i say "let's go to the liquor store and pick up some soda's" or something, and theyare like "huh?" ... "sorry, convience store." it's pretty lame. and they do it so they can "controll the tax" or some bullshit excuse like that...

Actually, it's a carryover from prohibition, which they've never officially repealed.

interesting... come to think of it, i think i might have heard that on the news when they started a select few on sunday sale's. Some girl told me it was from the tax thing, and she told me before i stopped listening to her.

either way... it keeps me sober

lol where did you stay where you could buy liquors in jiffy stores? the only places in florida you can buy anything stronger than wine would be bars and designated liquor stores.

i get all my booze from jewel =P you get a discount with preferred card. $21 for a handel of capt. isn't bad if u ask me

i know when i lived in michigan they had places called "party stores" which were basically convenience stores with a giant shelf of liquor behind the counter

and in illinois they sell liquor in the grocery stores

i grew up in socal... .7-11 didnt sell liquor, but they were still refered as such..

in socal.. most liquor stores are well stocked...

in nevada you can get booze 24/7 at any gasg station any day of the week :smile:

Yeah, thats been the hardest part about leaving Nevada, getting used to all the silly laws and having things actually close down.  Things like 'No Smoking...anywhere' and 'last call' are hard to get used to.  In Vegas I couldn't even tell you how mwny times I stumbled out the front door of the bar only to realize that the sun was up so I turned around and went back in to have breakfast!
