Wet Dog! (Big Pictures)
    #6000267 -

Our dog recently decided that it would be cool to try to swim in her water bowl.  She puts her 2 front paws in, and splashed wildly and thinks it's grand.  So we went out and bought her a blue plastic kiddie pool and filled it up today, here are some pictures.  Our dog is the yellow lab, and the other dog is my boyfriend's sisters.  Any ideas what breed she is?  Noone really knows

She did, she's a HUGE crackhead.

While we were outside today, I caught a frog that was hopping around the yard.  Then I put it in the pool, and my dog tried to eat it, so I rescued it and went to go let it go in a safe spot...and then I saw ANOTHER frog.  So I grabbed that one, and put them both in the pool so they could swim together.  But I let them both go afterwards   I like frogs.

I know this sounds wierd, but when i saw the (other) dog, I thought it was a chubby fox. It seriously looks like it is atleast half fox.

No, it doesn't sound weird...she is pretty damn strange looking huh?

She's definitely got to be some type of Herding breed...she herds everything that she possibly can.  Here's some more pictures that show her face more.  I really have no idea what she is, and we've done a lot of research on breeds to try to figure it out

That would be some fucked up shit.

But I wonder, wouldn't it have a big impact on her personality traits? She's got a REAL weird personality, but not in a wild sense. She thinks she's a person. It's really weird. She's very mello, hates pretty much all dog toys, and would rather hang out next to me than play with my dog for the most part. She's been staying with us for like a week and 1/2 now, so she's finally acting like a dog because she's getting used to my pup harassing her all the time.

The dog has a face like a Corgie, but a body like a Collie. I'd say you have several different breeds in one dog. Collie/Sheltie + 2 other dogs is my best guess. Sheltie + Australian shepard + something else sounds likely.

Does the dog have a lot of energy, is it very yappy? Protective?

yeah i was gonna say it looked like a corgi with long legs!

corgis were originally bred to herd sheep and cattle. i guess those little legs let them run about underneath the cows and nip their ankles to keep them in line!

I was thinking Corgi as well, you guys beat me to the punch, has a smile just like one

My puppy is half Husky half Chesapeake Bay Retriever, and he's only 11 weeks old so he's worth all the trouble the bastard causes.

That dog screams Australian Shepherd or some mix thereof, to me.  I shave them all the time.

Lucy looks exuberant and pretty as usual.

aww. more reminders of when my dog was young! Yea the labs DEFINETLY like water. You should take her to a lake one day and throw sticks in for her to go get. My dog loves that and she would go all day!

Guide me clearly through that which I dont understand
Give me strength to find the path
Help me fight any demons as you flow through me wholely
This is my prayer, that you protect me from evil, and bring me closer to peace
And open up my eyes, so i can see things as you do

It's a Collie (lassie-type) mixed with a Husky or Malamute.

She's actually really low key, not a lot of energy, and doesn't bark at all.  And she's not protective either.  Like I said, she pretty much thinks she's a person.  My boyfriend's sister adopted her from a high kill shelter down south after seeing her picture online and deciding she had to have her.  She had definitely been abused.  When she first got her, she was terrified of everyone and everything, and wouldn't even look at people, she'd just hide in the corner and shake.  After a lot of patience and consistency and love, she's a great dog.  A little weird, but very well trained and well socialized, and not afraid of her own shadow anymore.  I would love to know what kind of dog she is for sure...I think a lot of the guesses in this thread are pretty dead-on, inclusing the "Lassie" breed, and maybe some husky/corgi/shepard mixed in.  She's got a sort of cylinder type body, and her legs are a big short in proportion to the rest of her.  And she's got these crazy tufts of her that stick out of her ears and between her toes.

Yarry, we bring Lucy to the beach a lot, and yes, she could play fetch all day for like a week and be perfectly content with that.  It's odd though, she LOVES water on her own terms, but does not like to be sprayed with the hose, and doesn't like the sprinkler (although we only tried that once).  She's the best dog ever.  SO smart, so loyal, and full of love.  She's amazingly easy to train.  The latest thing we've gotten her to do is "clean up your toys".  She'll scatter her dozens of toys around the house but when we say that, she'll go get them one by one and put them in a laundry basket  :tongue2:  And then of course promptly empty it again to play with them all, but hey, it's the effort that counts, right??

Anyways, thanks to everyone for the guesses/compliments.  If anyone else has any, I'm going to be passing the info along to Phoebe's owner when she gets back from Europe as to what breeds she might be.
