Liquid Culture Viability Question
    #5921276 - 08/01/06 09:02 AM (17 years, 7 months ago)

Hi all,

I have a question regarding liquid culture viability over extended periods of time. I have two well-colonized, but rather old jars. Two and a half weeks, maybe. They don't appear to have been overtaken by contams, but I don't know if the myc is still alive, as it may hav e used up all the available sugars by now. These are quart jars, if that matters. Anyways, should I go g2g with my next run or attempt the liquid innoc.? All relevant input greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

should definitely be fine.

stick 'em in the fridge and you can keep them 6 months or more

but two and a half weeks out at room temp is nothing to worry about

As long as it's in the fridge the myc will go into stasis. You can do this with LC, agar, jars or whatever.

^^^^ true, pretty much.

If you have doubts.

Inoculate a single jar, and see how it goes.
