Toss the cakes?

I have four 1/2 pint cakes that have just stopped growing and I have heard some talk about getting a trip out of them, if this is worth while will sombody please help me out and tell me what I need to do to trip off them...thanks

While I've never tried it, I heard that you can take your cakes, break them up in 1-2 inch chunks and then bring water to a boil and throw in the chunks of the cake. Let the water simmer for a while, and then cool down. Run the water through a coffee filter and then use the water to make tea, or simply drink it. I don't know, I've been meaning to give it a shot. L8rs.

Plain rice cakes are good for making tea. This I know! Hope you don't have any vermiculite mixed in there. If you do, just be sure to filter the tea VERY well. A clean sock makes a good filter, plus you can squeeze every last drop of tea out of the cake material. I always powder a vitamin C tablet into the water before adding the cake. The antioxidant properties of the vit. C helps to preserve the active ingredients. You don't want to lose your psilo-alkaloids to oxidation, do ya?
