Does the notify moderator button do anything?

I know moderators are paid to work around the clock or anything, but this post ---> http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/5814984/an/0/page/0

does not belong in Trip Reports. It's been there for almost a week. Just thought someone might know why it hasnt been moved? does the notify moderator button actually do anything?

There is no Trip Reports moderator ever since I resigned as a mod.

It sure does.

It sends an automated message to every single moderator in said forum.  If no one decides to actually do anything about it, maybe there's nothing worth doing.

I get mod notifications for the Pub all the stinking time, but a lot of them are just nit-pickers I'll let them go.  Another mod might see it and have a different perspective and do something about it.  :shrug:

Maybe none of the mods saw it as action worthy?

Well not to toot my own horn, but I think I could manage such a position, as I read the Trip Reports just about every day.

I think its a very important section of the boards, and I'm very surprised, there should be at least one mod.

The Notify Moderator button indeed works, and your notification will immediately be taken to /dev/null where it will be dealt with accordingly, in the same way support tickets are :thumbup:

It works better in some forums than others. For instance, things used to go unnoticed for weeks, months (generally forever) in the garden due to a lack of moderators. Even with the most blatent offenses. A few mods recognized this when I talked to them about it, and said they'd mentioned it to an admin.

Yes, yes it does do something.  Ythan and Anno have special metal knobs that vibrate under their testicles whenever you notify.  I don't know about the other mods, though--those guys are all fetish weird.  :smirk:
