taking over for scofield?

anybody know who will replace john scofield on phil & friends tour after these last shows in Asheville and Raleigh? he's going abroad for some jazz tour, and Phil's website doesn't list who his "friends" are...

From the Mountain Xpress, the weekly in Asheville:

(When Scofield leaves after the Asheville date to do his solo tour, he'll be replaced by pedal-steel player Barry Sless, a veteran of the David Nelson Band, an offshoot of yet another "Dead family" band - New Riders of the Purple Sage.) "But when Scofield leaves, we'll be adding Greg Osby on sax, so we'll still have that jazz element," notes Lesh.



I really want to see them here in Asheville, but I'm pretty broke and tickets ain't cheap. I may go cruise the lot scene, meet some crazy fools or something. What dates are you going to, Krishna? Cuz Joan's beautiful voice is really something to behold... :smile:

i'll be on tour from this friday (in camden) until prob the 17th of July (illinois)..

really wish i could see them with scofield, but couldn't start my vacation until this thursday :frown:
