America's primary fuel is NOT petroleum

No lads, it's BEER!
Cut off our supply of oil? We'll suffer a bit, we might start a war. We'll eventually get over it though and learn to live without it.
On the other hand, if you cut off all the supply of beer to america, there would be hell to pay. There would be bloodstains for miles as beer-starved freedom fighters marched all over the asses of the people responsible.
I dedicate this post to beer. May it forever be in it's rightful place alongside mankind.

Let's use the fictional explanation that they bombed all of the breweries and then cut off the imports.

Brewing is fun. It's harder than it looks, though. I started a gallon of Mead a while back and it wound up tasting pretty nasty. I tried to salvage it by adding more sugar and then spicing it with cinnamon, allspice, and cloves in an attempt to add flavor and mask some of the less pleasant flavors.
The fermentation kicked up again thanks to the sugar. I'm hoping it will reach an alcohol content that will kill the yeast before they use all the sugar up. That way it will stay slightly sweet.
Thankfully, it will also wind up having that much more alcohol in it.
I'm thinking it might turn out okay now. It used to smell too yeasty, now it smells more like beer with spices.
