Hi all - I'm looking for S. r-a cultures (as well as Morchella sp.) to trade. I have healthy cultures of: Lentinus edodes Hypsizygus ulmarius Pleurotis eryngii Pleurotis pulmonarius Morchella esculenta Panellus Stipticus Hericium erinaceus Most of which I have fruited myself. I'll trade one-for-one for any of these and will entertain trades for other species (but I'm really looking for S. r-a at the moment). PM me please Thanks, Armedia

I wll be acquiring a bag of Stropharia sawdust spawn this week from Fungi Perfecti. I have a sterile hood and all and I plan on isolating mycelia from the bag before I use it as spawn. This will be the strain known as Garden Giant. I would like to trade it for Pluerotus pulmonarius. Also I have 2 Coprinus comatus strains, 2 Lepitota rhacodes strains, and Griofola frondosa if you are interested in still more trades.
-------------------- Listen! Do you smell something?

Here, let me try that again, Too much zanax I guess. I am interested in growing Hericium erinaceus . What method did you use? I have searched everywhere for a tek for this mushroom. Any help offered up would be appreciated. I have spawn on the way. I am a very experianced grower, so if you want to keep it simple, thats great. zen

Hericium erinaceus grows on sterilized supplemented sawdust from a plastic bag, where you poke one or 2 holes into the bag and then the fruitbody grows out of the bag. The Mushroom Cultivator has detailed description of this species.

On the Hericium. . .It's a pretty damn easy one to fruit actually. If you leave a colonized grain jar [birdseed anyway] for too long it will start fruiting within. It's also very prone to fruiting on agar itself--pretty cool little pom-poms! Seems to do well on any number of non-aromatic woods, soft or hard, though for yields of consequence you should follow the GGMM supplementation recommendations.
