Amanitas have recently sprung up around my area so I would say it is not too far off. Around mid-april possibly - it depends on how wet/cold it is though.

amanitas were sprouting here in tas all through Spring/Summer. We spent ten minutes walking thru a pine plantation and picked about 3kg of amanitas

i didnt think they grew thru summer?

usually four to six weeks after the amanitas - the subs arrive

Yeah i'm in Welly too (nz).

Found a few amanitas around... But i don't really want to try them :P

This year hopefuly i'll find some active muchrooms and trip for my first time :smile: after the bad luck i had last year (first time hunting)

Any ways guys, is it possible for subs to grow where the amanitas grow? Eg pine... Or they only grow on "wood chips" ?
