I don't like Atmosphere because I think Slug is a douchebag. But yeah, the fact that he can't freestyle is a factor as well. :P

When in the company of such great minds as Aesop Rock and Illogic, most emcee's would seem..lackluster. Slug's freestyles are decent.

He tried to sing his way through the freestyle, because he wasn't quick enough to spit lines that actually had any sort of impact.

I do agree that he has some good songs, but most of Atmosphere has been ruined by this kid for me. He was (and probably still is) a slug-in-training, and then one day, he stole a bunch of shit from me. Fuck learning ethics through rap. You could say I have a bit of a personal vendetta against this kid, and consequently, his teacher, Slug.

Plus, Slugs rap's aren't my style at all. He's very down to earth and serious, and likes to rap about chicks. I like hip hop with a wild imagination (deltron? most kool keith?).

Actually one of my favorite songs of theirs is on 7's Travels. Not the best CD, but I like "Trying to find a balance"

And the last track is cool too.

Deep Puddle Dynamics is pretty damn tight. I'm not totally into the mad underground scene and all, but holy shit someone else listens to this stuff besides me. :P

Those anticon guys sound so weird when they get to taking hip hop seriously.. the tracks on that album more just confuddled me than had me jammin'.

But "Where the Wild Things Are" was pretty good, from what I remember. Isn't slug actually on that song?

Oh yeah.

I guess sole, alias and dose one all make some pretty good solo hip hop records (well, doseone idk, I never really listened to him), but on that album, everything just seemed cluttered and unorganized. hmrmrmmm

I should probably listen to it some more. It's been a while.
