No man I'm not that old, pig died in 72 or 73 and I saw my first show in 75.

hmm there is this guy i work with who saw a few shows with pigpen in the early 70s. he insists that is THE best dead. ive heard plenty of shows and im partial to mid to late 70s shows

Two different bands IMO, the long ass jams with Pig as the front man !!!!!!

Very different from the 72 - 78 band we all love so much .....but great too!

you know i was doing mescaline and nitrous sat night. pretty wasted. i was listening to the dead and i got this vision that they were like collectively painting into the night sky. like the songs were painting a picture or something. it drives me nuts that ill never seeing a show :frown:

i have 3 un ripped ticets from shows i never attended
my dad bought me tics for all 3 shows but i never ended up attending any of them :sad:
either i was too tiered or he was or somthing came up
to him it diddnt matter cus he had been to so many shows and he always thought they would be around
one of the bigest regrets of my life

i have however seen The Dead a few times at leased
not to menttion severa; phil lesh shows :gd_icon: :jamming:
but nothing will replace the real deal

hehe....the very first time I listened to the dead I was 13 or 14 years old, tripping on LSD 25 at a dose double the normal amount for those times (about 500 mcg's)

I saw many shows with hells angels and actually became good friends with a group of them. We would meet at each show and I was kinda like a mascot to them, they would feed me drugs and I would hang with them. Most people steered very clear of them in those days but I was so stoned on barbs that nothing scared me. I'm lucky as shit to have lived to tell the tail. Crazy days man!

Some day I'll get motivated enough to tell some stories about those times!
