What comedians like Bill Hicks were against was the people and the institutions that were against everything, mainly our freedom of choice and expression. So when my Dad says that he was one of these people who are against everything I find it funny and frustrating at the same time because to my mind the complete opposite is true.

As for achieving nothing, well he was a comedian who's job it was to make people laugh whilst opening up their minds at the same time. I feel that Bill Hicks did this extraordinarily well. Just a shame he wasn't around longer as he could have made a much bigger impact then.

On a lighter note, letterman/conan/leno are all mediocre. I could watch all three shows in a row and think that the second two just paraphrased the first one in their monologue (no matter which order I watched them in), it's pathetic.

Well, keep in mind they have to put on a show every single night, it's hardly possible to maintain excellence under those kinds of conditions.

Second, Bill Hicks may have been funny sometimes, but a lot of the time he just comes off as whiny. Kind of "society sucks, and everyone that runs it is evil, and the closest thing I do to rebelling is getting high, so I'll act like that's some kind of 'fuck you' to the establishment".

Every single teenager has gone through a phase where they decided that society sucks, culture sucks, and that their rock 'n roll, drugs, and rebellious posturing isn't really all a big part of it, that it's somehow a special outside force that's working to change things... which is really all bullshit.

you cant do DMT in a issolation tank that shit only lasts for like 5 minutes there would be no point in the tank it wont do anything... and once you move in the tank you have to start all over...you could do mushrooms or acid since those are 6 hour+ trips...

I really don't think I'd like to be alone on mushrooms for 6 hours. I'm especially social when I'm tripping, I'll wander around where there's people just so I know that SOMEONE's around.

thats the point of an isolation tank to train your brain to stop having the need to constantly to do something... youll find yourself moving your fingers or something to keep busy in there and once you stop everything completely for awhile is when it starts getting crazy...
