Ipod Pain

Reorganizing and renaming my MP3 collection to have a streamlined Ipod, what a pain in the ass.

Any tips to ease the pain and time?

Tip:

Put a bullet in the iPod and buy and iRiver. They work just as well except the interface works more like a computer letting you browse and organize your music like in windows explorer. So it's basically just as good, and then better.

I was kinda wondering if they had some kind of software, or some way that you can make an exclusive library just for your ipod, so you can keep a certain tracklist in your itunes and take stuff out without it being deleted from your ipod. Do you understand what I'm talking about, or am I just rambling? I know what I'm saying, but I may not be communicating it correctly. I am kinda tired from a full day of baby and cleaning/packing. It's really tiring and my brain is fried.

i think there might be something like that in existance. but I don't own an iPod so I wouldn't know for sure. I just bought a 512meg maxtor mp3 player. It's just a 512meg pen drive that has a user interface that plays mp3's.

It runs for a good 8-10 hours on a single energiser AAA battery

That's cool. I just bought danksis one for christmas and we are learning how to use it, so any tips would be great from anyone. I am going to search more, later, but I gotta get some sleep soon.

i feel ya! i used a program called "tag and rename" which is very good
but it's a pain in the ass none the less!

Get into the habit of renaming your songs as you get them.  If you slack and let them pile up over the course of a few months, it becomes a major pain in the ass.

I was messin with one last night before I went for a run... figured I could throw on another band, but ended up deleting 1500 songs for 69... bullshit. I was pissed so I ran further.

Well, mass selecting and right clicking works great for albums and artists over all. Either in itunes or windows. The individual track names... I generally leave blank if it didn't look it up or whatever unless it's something I actively listen to. If it's in the mp3 file name, thats good enough, as thats what it'll show if blank.
