anyone else find it fucked up that jerry said he got pissed and threw phil down a small flight of stairs because he didnt like the way shit was sounding?? i mean this is like the king of all hippies, peace , love ,etc.... and he tossed a guy for playing bad bass :lol: guess everyonehas a temper...i bet jesus kicked around his diciples oce in while too :gd_icon:

i think it's also fucked that jerry abused such crappy drugs, basically to his ruin.

he was an amazing guitar player, but definitely a man with some serious issues in his life (as mostly every genius has been).

yeah he looked much older that he was. all that hard living. i remeber when he died seeing pics of him on magazines, on the news i thought he was at least in his 60s maybe early 70s. seriously the guy lived hard....he smoked a ton of fucking cigs too, those make u look way older that normal. in fact id say cancer sticks are probably worse than the H.

That's an old story, but true, verified by Phil....

Jerry felt real bad about the incident  :shocked: but he was into giving a great show every night back then. I could see myself doing the same thing!

I'm supposed to be like super chilled out or something.. at least that's what people say. But I have (or used to have at least..) some serious repressed anger emotional problems. It takes a lot to really truly piss me off.. you have to push the right buttons.. over and over. But once I'm there.. get the fuck out. Seriously. It's like an atom bomb. I literally see red and do rash things that I can hardly recollect later. The only thing that goes through my mind in that state is - Death and Destruction. I'm not proud of it.

Luckily I have been able to control my rage for the most part, and incidents have been isolated to few holes in the wall, cracked windshields, and my own self-destructiveness. I haven't really hurt anyone else, which I guess I'm proud of?? :confused: I've scared the shit out of a lot of people though. I'm a freak. :frown:

I think I've gotten a shitload better in the past year though. I faced some of my deeper mental issues and came to terms with some memories that were undoubtedly part of the problem.

I mostly got pissed at my ex girlfriend. She knew how to piss me off to the extreme.. better and faster than anyone. I notice I am much more calm these days.

Donna probably tossed Jerry down a flight of stairs a few times. I rememer reading that she was a raging alcoholic and she single handedly destroyed hotel rooms.

I thought that this thread was going to be about another "mash up" album which mixed Garcia and RATM. That would be pretty interesting, actually now that I think about.

Anyway, Jerry was human just like anyone else. It's good that he felt bad about it.

in A Long Strange Trip, they kinda talked about the incident a bit, it was like a 2-3 step down stairs, not an entire flight... and he goes to say that they were playing really good, really new stuff, and phil couldnt handle it, thinking he was playing bad, so he just walked off stage (or so i remember).. so jerry got pissed cause he was into it so much... told him something like "you get up there anf fucking play"... i think this is about the time when wier and pigpen were 'theroitcaly' kicked out of the band, but they couldnt do it, so they just formed another band, but things just werent right and they just dropped the new band (they had new guest players all the time)

there's an interview with jerry on (i belive) the grateful dead movie bonus disc about the incident.

i dont think phil fell down, just kinda stumbled on his feet as well, but i dont know if that makes it any better... but yea, sucks that it happened, but i'm sure tehy both learned a lot from it.
