check out http://electricsheep.org/ it uses your computer while your not using it to create fractal animations. They are pretty amazing.

there is a lot more to it than just a screen saver. thousands of computers work on it and then you download the result. The best factals are kept and impoved upon so it is alway evolving.

The StumbleUpon Toolbar!  It's like crack for internet insomniacs.  Basically you sign up at the site, download the toolbar plugin, and hit the button labeled "Stumble."  It then takes you to a random site in one of your categories.  Each page you go to can be voted "like" or "dislike" (or skip), and the results are compared against every other member in the category.  Over time, the content of the categories evolve to what people who share your interests are interested in.  And of course you can submit pages to categories.

Something similar is Last.FM.  (Website www.last.fm).  It's an online radio program combined with a plugin (WinAMP, WME, etc.) that plays a custom playlist based on similar artists to the one you choose at first.  You can vote if you like the song or not, and over time, the database updates your playlist to songs that other people with similar interests like.

Kind of Big Brother scary and really damn cool at the same time!  :crazy2:

Yeah man Stumble really is like crack. I find myself randomly clicking that button every few minutes to curve my boredom. I've learned a lot from all these sites, too. :grin:
