Anyone know of any good places to get agar cheap?
Preferably bacteriological, but any place with good prices is fine with me, heh.

go to the health food store buy a container of Agar-Agar for a couple of bucks. Go to the grocery store and buy a packet of yeast and a 5 lb bag of potatoes and some dextrose(homebrew store if they don't carry it). You now have all of the ingredients to make PDYA. Do a search to find how to actually make it.

Hi,
It depends on what kind you want. Different kinds cost different amount. MEA and PDA will be chepaer than the bacteriological grade agar that you're looking for because in most cases a lower grade agar is used in its production.
